Choosing an SAP HANA Managed Hosting Provider Based on Application Environment Consolidation

There are three key factors to consider when evaluating potential SAP HANA managed hosting providers: size of implementation, network needs, and application environment consolidation. This is the last post in a four-part blog series covering these areas in depth.

Application Environment Consolidation

The final factor to consider when choosing a HANA managed hosting provider is the complexity of your environment, including applications you currently host, as well as applications you will connect to HANA.

Many companies have begun to consolidate HANA and SAP Business Suite Core Applications from branch offices or acquisitions to the cloud in a central location. You might also choose to move legacy platforms to the cloud to take advantage of efficiencies and cost savings.

It’s common practice to keep the number of service providers you work with to a minimum where possible to simplify everything from contracts to bookkeeping. Therefore, you may choose to host HANA with the same provider you are using to for other hosting needs. In addition, if you are connecting other applications to HANA, it would be helpful to choose a hosting provider familiar with setting up these integrations.

Savvis has the ability to satisfy all these hosting needs, from housing legacy machines to managed hosting for almost any application, SAP or otherwise. We have completed thousands of implementations and can advise you on the best way to connect your applications, as well as perform entire integrations for you.

If you have any questions about SAP HANA running on Savvis infrastructure, feel free to comment below.
